Biography

Christina "Sunni" Taliaferro

"The closer we listen to the voices within us, the clearer we hear what is sounding outside." - Anonymous

Christina "Sunni" Taliaferro never asks why she is here. In every moment, life gives her the answer. She has made it her business, literally, to help others learn to heal, and to hear the answers that are there for those willing simply to listen. CEO, Founder and visionary force behind Solimar, Inc. and its subsidiary projects, Christina "Sunni" Taliaferro leads with an acumen derived from over ten years of professional experience.

Public relations, promotions, community development and fundraising are each significant high points in a career that has spanned the fashion, recording, sales and retail industries. An inspirational and successful entrepreneur on the rise, Taliaferro makes no apologies for the fact that she was brutally raped ten years ago. In fact, she focuses on it.

From a past brimming with self-loathing, bulimia and attempted suicide, Sunni makes the daily journey toward self-love and forgiveness, and has made it her life’s goal to lead as many others on that daily path as possible. Her vibrant personality combines with a collaborative, culturally sensitive management style enabling her to communicate with a diversity of audiences.

Her perspectives and practices are the foundation and thread through everything she touches. She turned her life around and has followed her dreams to create personal and professional fulfillment and success. And she’s gladly taken countless people along with her.

As the spokesperson for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates,) Taliaferro has raised nearly $100,000 in less than one year. As the Executive Director for Kids Who Care, Inc. she negotiated major corporate sponsorships which allow the organization to thrive. She has also raised significant amounts of money for the Children’s Summer Theater Productions.

Past accomplishments include highly successful stints with Polygram Records, RIZE Up Management, Front & Bank Management and Alice In Wholesale Land Clothing Co.

Christina put her vision into action first with Wings of Solimar…An Angel Gallery. She created an art gallery and retail store that is so much more. It is a healing place where people gather to share their experiences. Artists, healers, teachers and business people give workshops on new perspectives and self-empowerment. Neighborhood kids stop by daily to color.

The vision has expanded exponentially in a short period of time to include a foundation for abused women and children called "Angel House," and of course, the launch of Solimar Magazine…Living in the New Millenium.

Taliaferro’s vision is best expressed in her own words, "We aren’t trying to change people, we’re changing perspective. We believe, when you change your perspective, your change your thoughts. When you change you thoughts, you can change anything."
