is already engaged in recasting and regenerating astrology. How has this
been done? Are we fully aware of what we are doing? Are we attentive to
one another's work? What are our dreams for the future? -K
My work in astrology has been centered on the issues of relationships, spirituality, women's issues, Goddess ritual, and the feminine (but) I had never related my interests to the feminist movement -R I have struggled to create a feminist philosophical foundation from which to practice astrological counseling and teaching -S Feminist astrology represents the highest potential of astrological practice -M Astrology is the call of the Great Mother to understand Her cycles and how your life is connected to Her -M Astrology is the ultimate eros perspective in its mysterious mirroring of an individual's specific relationship to the cosmic matrix/mother -S An earth-centered, goddess-oriented approach to astrology really resonates with who I am -A What I have just done is to describe how undervalued and invisible astrology is among feminists now the feminist part of me must speak out against the limitations of astrology -VT The astrology that we have inherited is based on interpretations by men of mostly male archetypal principles depicted by the planetary gods, and out of men's experiences. Perhaps since the earliest Sumerians in the 4th millennium BC until the 19th century, astrology was studied and practiced, for the most part, by men only many of the meanings and attributes associated (with) feminine signs and planets are distorted representations -D Women were involved in the making of astrology long before it was written down -K Jane Ellen Harrison and the great female theosophists like Blavatsky and Alice Bailey paved the way to uncover the many faces of the Goddess that work has enabled me to fully research the feminine places and powers in the re-mythologized sky -W We consulted with a pilot at Gatwick on how to film the Somerset Virgo figure from the air -M I am disturbed by the common story behind Cassiopeia and Andromeda. A vain queen and a sacrificial princess awaiting her hero? I see Andromeda flying on Pegasus herself and giving birth to the galaxy in her womb -K How would Mars look if we saw him through the eyes of the Mother Goddess? -K Even though I have focused on the Goddess/planet Venus, this type of work should be done with all the planets -R The New Age concept of "feminine" and "masculine" - the idea that men need to explore their "feminine" and that women need to explore their "masculine" just takes us back to old-fashioned sex-role stereotypes the problem is that we live in a patriarchal society -S I enrolled in their two-year women's clairvoyant program bringing into awareness the energies of punishment, guilt, and pain that are stored in the female -L Women have often constituted the majority in marginalized, service professions. Yet as those professions become more structured, legitimate and financially lucrative, women have been pushed out this could happen in astrology -G Awareness of (reincarnation) is the only really effective cure for sexism We all suffer from the imbalance we all have created -A I would rather be building and creating than fighting and that, too, is feminism as far as I'm concerned -G The future is about men and women enabling each other on the road to wholeness -M The integration and balance of male and female energy in each one of us (assists) us to understand, nurture and support ourselves and others so that we may live more consciously in the divine energy of the universe -J The great rebalancing of the masculine-feminine energies is something in which the entire human family is participating -D We stand on a new threshold Feminism, with its ideals and practice of sisterhood, brotherhood, and humanhood, leads the way -M Initiated into her own source of power and to her connection to the divine she is the feminist astrologer -M |
